Ok, so it's been a while since I las updated so thought i'd do so now while I had a spare moment.
A quick update on the situation from my previous post, i think things between us are sorted now. After talking it through with one of my other friends, i kinda understood and also realised that it was in part my approach to things which perhaps came across as heavy handed, so i basically sent him a message explaining that it was only because i cared about him that i looked out for him, and that he'll always be my best friend. A day or so after he sent me a short note, but one which meant a lot, and so i think we understand each other now!
And all this the week before my MSc dissertation was due in! This i finally got handed on Tuesday morning, following an epic night and day of trying to get the thing finished, which essentially involved a 36 hour straight stint in the department pc lab frantically typing it up! I think it's alright, i know there are things which could be improved and which don't really make sense, but considering all the delays i had with waiting for data that never did arrive, to experiencing problems with data that i already had (no thanks to the dept's so called GIS support officer...she's being paid to do what exactly?!!, or my supervisor come to think of it who decided to go away for a week, right when he was needed most, then presumed to say that i should have submitted a draft earlier, even though he wasn't there), i don't think the outcome was too bad. It got to the point on Monday afternoon where you're just so tired that everything you read back to yourself just sounds rubbish, which then led me on to the closest thing i've had to a panic attack, i mean i was physically shaking and rapidly breathing. Not good times!
Now it's all in though, the feeling of it's all over starts to appear, and you wonder where you're going to go from here - a PhD, a job?! Well i'm applying for both, anything to keep me in Lancaster for another year at least really - i'm not ready to leave yet! I'll keep you posted with developments.
At the moment i'm currently doing some web developing for LUTube TV, i've just redone the YouTube channel, and i'm in the process of doing the website - Dreamweaver CS4 is much more tricky to use than CS3, and it's taking me ages! After this i've got to edit some showreels for the site and ecampus, then finish a DVD of a music concert we filmed last term, plus type up some show and concept ideas, so all in all quite a bit, so i better go start!
Peace out,
A
